When I'm illustrating a book, there's nothing more fun than bringing bits of myself into the work. In the case of Monday is One Day, the city was (loosely) inspired by my hometown, Austin. I didn't use references, and nothing is geographically accurate, as I didn't want this to feel like a specific city, but Austin was definitely in my mind when creating this.
